New page! Happy new year, everyone! I’m very late this time, but that’s the holiday period for you. Always lots of other stuff that needs sorting 🙂
Here we turn our attention back to the Moroz vs Bat Queen duel. Moroz wins out in skill and cunning but that may not be enough against the great strength and resilience of this vampiric colossus!
I have a vote pic in the works but it isn’t quite ready yet. It’s the start of a new series called ‘Prisoners of the Mountain Gnoll’-I’ll be doing various characters from the comic having been captured. Starting with the OG team (Rath, Zeen , Kazu and Alice) and going on from there 🙂 That should be ready soon.
If you can afford to and you’d like some bonus content, then please consider backing my work on Patreon. Those Patreon dollars buy me the time I need to make the comic-It really does make a massive difference 🙂

Wait-ohh. That was one of Moroz ice-clones. Damn, here I thought Moroz was going through a super form.
Nope-That’s just one of her copies. They look quite convincing until somebody interacts with them 🙂
Moroz needs to step up her strategizing game for her next mission. There are quite a few items that are cheap, often overlooked, and have some nifty side effects. The example that jumps out at me due to her current opponent is an item called “Liquid Sunlight” (Complete Scoundrel pg.110). If the target has sunlight sensitivity they are dazzled for a round, and creatures that take sun damage like vampires take 1d6 damage when hit. Too specialized? It also acts as an Everburning Torch at a tenth of the price (10gp vs 100gp), and can be made into a pendant that doesn’t take up a magic slot or your hands. Or if you want to be really evil, get some Aboleth Slime. It costs 20gp a vial, and anything hit starts to drown unless they (ironically) submerge themselves in water. A fort save can stop it, but that doesn’t help the enemy wizard throwing around annoying spells, does it? Or something more in line with this comic’s tone, try to weaponize certain oozes. Instant naked opponents!
Gear like that tends to be more useful for lower level characters (Rath and co would get a lot of use out of it) but it never hurts to have options and Moroz certainly wouln’t have a problem with using a few tricks and gadgets to give herself an edge 🙂 In this particular case the Liquid Sunlight wouldn’t be that useful (D6 damage isn’t much and many DMs would rule that a vampire is not dazzled by light depending on how it’s worded((I’ve had some tough DMs))) though it’d definitely be a handy item to have in a lot of situations 🙂
Aboleth slime sounds very good too, although again-In this particular encounter it wouldn’t really help as vampires do not need to breath. Definitely good on most wizards though (as you say) given their low Con/Fort save 🙂
An ooze in a bottle? Now that’s a genius idea! 😀 You could thow it like a molotov cocktail. Maybe put a minor storing charm in the bottle to make it roomier inside.
Another idea that long time D&D players have floated around was the old “jug of oil” trick. Makes any solid floor too slippery to stand on, as if hit with a grease spell (which by the way is a low level spell that stays useful at any level). It could also have some…fun side effects if the opponent gets hit directly. The jug of oil or the spell hitting them? Yes.
This is giving me some ideas for an enemy that one of the groups has to fight that would use a lot of gadgets and alchemical solutions and the like 🙂
Man, how long has it been since we last saw Rath and crew? I almost forgot they were part of this world.
It has been a long time-But you’ll be glad to hear that they are up next after this scene 🙂
That’s too easy : Moroz isn’t so stupid to neglect this ability . I bet for a reversal situation : the real her being the decoy XD
Could be-She is quite a tricksy gnoll 😉
Second of central panels : https://btbcomic.com/comic/page240/ ^^
I love that her decoys are butt naked too. I like to think there’s a range of choices for different situations and sometimes you’ve just gotta hit the ‘completely naked’ button on your own decoys.
Yes-She hasn’t quite got the knack for making clothed copies just yet 😉
oh noo what if she accidentally pops a nude decoy in front of her friends! That’s worse than losing your bikini bottoms at the beach.
Why do I have a feeling Moroz used some of her blood to make a clone while using her cryomancy abilities to slow her blood flow down just enough to not be scented properly?
That’d be pretty clever 😉
