New page! It was pretty much ready yesterday but I decided to delay 24hrs so I could get a sweet new vote pic up and running! That sassy seer seems so suspicious. Is the Queen all she seems? Will this new plan stop the gnoll onslaught? Find out soon in BTB!
Thanks a lot to my generous Patrons! You make this possible (or at the very least you let me spend more time working on this than I’d have otherwise 🙂 ). I’ve been streaming on Picarto. I should go to the doctors about that really. No! Shut it! Gotta stop with the dad jokes for long enough to tell you all that you can watch me draw on Picarto if you don’t have anything better to do 🙂 Check it out here- https://picarto.tv/SpaceGoblinProductions
A big ‘Thank you!’ to all my existing Patrons-you make this possible 🙂
Ah yes, we start seeing the cracks in the façade that hint to Mortubera not being what she seems. And I’m not talking about the one in the third panel, we see those kind all the time in this comic.
That dress is specially designed to boost the power of nearby werewolves. They grow strong in the glow of the full moon!
Butt wouldn’t that boost be overshadowed by the constant will saves to avoid dropping everything to howl at it?
The comeback of the tiny cute bat : i want to hug her ^_^
I have a question to peter Anckorn : why you still draw clothes when such outfits lets not a lot of place for imagination ? XD
Well ………… If Poto and Rata are Darksoul’s spies in Goret team , can we assume the gnoll seer is one from Varnack in Mortubera staff ?
It’s important for them to wear some clothing for two reasons. The fist is that stockings and a choker (but nothing else) is hotter than just being naked. The second is that they can’t have their clothes blasted or torn off if they’re all naked to begin with 😉
Indeed! another point is that if they were to be nude all the time we would sadly become desensitized to the rush of desire one gets at sudden nudity. if something is categorized as normal in the human subconsiousness then the rush of seing somthing wrong or forbidden vanishes to the point of nonexistent. example 1, male nudests no longer get a stiffy when in the presence of a nude and attractive mate in fact only reacting to sexual stimulation and the intent to breed. this part of the human brain is important as it also decides what is correct to do in society and what is taboo. example 2 the scantily glad populer girls these days is largy in part to celebertys attempting to get a atention by weraring intentionaly revealing clothing yet the more they do so the more normal it is to show that much skin thus creating a vicious cycal that continue to push the bonds of decency to the limit.
As Moroz said : “- Stop to use me in sexy examples” XD
I mean she is rockin’ her peers, puttin’ some suckers in fear, just waitin’ for her to tell’em to knock’em out.
Indubitably 😉
Okay I’m calling it. I bet that “Mortubera” is actually that gnome engineer that went missing in some kind of disguise it would explain the use of machines. The biggest clue is she’s using one of those devices Sir Raven used in the Vermin Queen’s lair that read magical auras. Raven himself even said that even the lowliest of apprentice could do so with magic and would consider it a parlor trick, so if the feared powerful NECROMANCER is too weak to pull off a wizard’s cantrip you know something’s off. I mean come on, even Zeen can cast detect magic reliably. 🙂
You never know-Stranger things have happened. Three seasons of them in fact.
I completely forgot who is from space.
Btw: You said your own Pen&Paper system might use mostly D10s. Is this based on Vampire: The Masquerade? I.e. the higher your skill level, the more D10s you get to roll when using a skill, so your chances of at least one die rolling high enough for a success increases with each die.
Nah-Though I have used that system 🙂 I actually abandoned using D10s on the ‘to hit’ roll as I realised it made the variable too small and it resulted in a lot of cases of needing to roll a 10 to stand a chance at hitting.
I am keeping D10s for damage though. Different weapons will give a bonus to damage. Eg-A great sword might give +10 damage. So a character hitting with a great sword would do Muscle score +2 per skill rank with melee weapons +10+D10 damage. Eg-A human warrior with Musle 6 and 3 ranks in melee would do 22+D10 damage with a great sword. A dagger might only add +2 damage, so the same character using a dagger would do 14+D10 damage.
If you roll a 10 on the D10 it’s a crit and you can roll another D10 and add that to the damage. You can keep doing this, so damage could be infinite (though rolling more that 2 10s in a row is pretty ulikely :)).
There’s an ability that lets you crit on a 9 or a 10, but I won’t include any mechanics that take crits beyond that (I don’t want that to get out of hand ;)).
Another variable will be armour. Characters will reduce incoming damage based on their Resilience stat and the armour they wear (plus racial bonuses for some creatures that have very tough hides).
Armour has a save value and a DR (damage reduction) value. The DR value is based on the material and the save value is based on coverage. The save value is what you need to roll on a D10 for the armour to have an effect. Eg a chainmail bikini might have 9+/DR8. Thus you’d have to roll a 9 or a 10 on your armour save for the incoming blow to hit the armour and if you do you take an extra 8 off the damage.
The base DR of a creature is their Resilience score halved (rounding down). So a human with Resilience 7 would have a DR of 3 (meaning they take 3 off the damage of any hits). This is added to any armour worn. So the same human with a chainmail bikini would take 11 off the damage of incoming hits if they hit the armour (on the roll of a 9 or 10).
Heavier armour offers more protection but also has down sides such as reducing your Defence score (meaning you’re easier to hit) and movement speed.
Full plate armour might be 2+/DR15-Meaning on a roll of a 2-10 on a D10 you take an extra 15 off incoming damage. It might also be -2 Defence and -10 Speed. Maybe -2 on certain skill checks such as athletics or stealth.
That’s an interesting concept, especially the rule on how armor works. Sadly, the rule is way too realistic and doesn’t encourage characters fighting naked. 😉
Not everyone has access to Gnoll war paint.
lol-I did create rules for armour destruction, but being realistic I decided that it was exactly the sort of rule that most players would ignore as it would slow things down + most players don’t like their gear to degrade all the time. I’ll save the armour destruction for the comic I think 🙂
That said, I am going to give different armour types different specail abilities. Like the chainmail bikini will give +1 defence vs any opponents that might be attracted to the character (as they are distracted). So although the bikini has way less coverage than the full plate, you are going to have a defence score 3 points higher (so you’ll be harder to hit in the first place).
There will also be magic battle bikinis at higher level that offer more protection 🙂 Maybe a skill tree that leans in to the art of fighting nearly naked…
Maybe ‘Armoured where it counts’. When wearing armour with 2 points of coverage or less the character may roll 2D10 for their armour save and choose the roll they want to use. They can take up to 3 ranks in this ability with each rank adding an additional D10- resulting in 4D10 rolled, needing a 9 or 10 on one of the dice. Actually a pretty good chance of making the save-Though you would need to spend some build points to get skillful enough to make the bikini work 🙂
