Our heroes trudge on and the sun starts getting low in the sky. Thank the gods for that! This has been a looong day! π
A massive thank you to my Patrons! You guys let me keep doing this and Iβm very grateful for it! If youβd like to have a hand in backing this depravity then please follow the link below and sign up! 😀
Remember-Only YOU can prevent the descent into βone size fits allβ grey sludge entertainment that everyone can consume but nobody really loves! Fight the power! Defy Disney! Unless the new film they make is good. Then watch it! Some of them are pretty good. Iβm waffling. Iβll shut up now.
Also-Please comment-I love hearing from my readers 🙂

Well !! If i understand this map finely : the team is actually resting in a zone DL9 ………… ^_^”
Yup-They probably shouldm’t stay there for the night π
Bear is cute in that outfit, and our lovely red head still has some killer abs.
A warrior cleric has to keep herself in good shape π
Agreed, I wouldn’t mind licking them.. I mean what?
You can lick her into shape! I assume that’s what you meant π
All I’m hearing is that they signed up for AD&D difficulty mode going into their when so low level.
Oh wow-I haven’t played AD&D in a loooong time. My group swapped over to 3E fairly quickly. We played with some minor mods too. I think we house ruled it so you got max HP at LV 1 and we also rolled 2 dice and chose the best one for future level HP.
My last character ever in AD&D became some what infamous. ‘Racarth the Destroyer’-A half ogre fighter in full plate (basically a 9ft tall Chaos Warrior). I think he was something like AC -3 at LV 1. I used the ‘Skills and Powers’ book to make him, which allowed me to take a bunch of flaws (lazy, short tempered etc) to generate extra build points. He was a bit much tbh XD
There were only two other players in that game (other than the DM) and they both turned up with rangers that specialised in archery (I think Lord of the Rings had come out quite recently so a lot of people were in full Legolas mode). Our team was a bit odd. Two Legolas cosplayers and a giant armoured warrior with glowing red eyes XD
I went on holiday and missed a session and when I got back a new player had joined the group and they’d swapped to 3E. Racarth had been converted into a half orc fighter which was frankly not quite the same π
awesome to hear abought your old game i play AD&D still since my old man still dm’s and has the books he bought in high school. my main character i retired because we had a new group form but he was a High elf cleric named Laharl and worshiped Tsukiyomi he ran into a fox woman lycanthrope and according to the monster book they charm and seduce elven men to make a reverse harem to make more Fox women he is happily retired banging a fox woman and i managed to convince the dm to let me play his daughter in the new campaign she’s a druid.
sory they swaped the rules on you man thats ruff
Nice-Sounds like a good retirement plan for a red blooded hero! π
It was okay in the end-We went on to have many great adventures in 3rd ed, 3.5 and Pathfinder. And we’re still playing now, over twenty years later. Currently a 5E game (I’m running a wizard with one level of Artificer so I could get medium armour, shield and cure light wounds) and a Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay game (in which I’m running an oafish brawler of a character who often ends up being the voice of reason in the party.
yeah i run pathfinder on the side as you know although of my group hasn’t played for a bit. we have a dragonborn monk a former Dampier sorcerer and a Suli Bard, rouge, warlock lvl2/2/1 the first twos personality’s are the silent follower type and the last is the leader of the party is getting out of marine boot camp soon.
still good play on the medium armor ive been playing baldur and the fact that they dont have arcane spell failure seems broken
Yes, it is pretty great. I use medium armour and a shield with a hand free for spells (I’ve never used a weapon so far). Had AC18 at lv 1. It’s now 20 at LV6 (1 Artificer, 5 Wizard). With the shield spell and the ability to cast Cure Wounds my character makes an excellent tank and healer, despite being primarily an arcane spellscaster π
The disadvantage is being a level behind on spells known. When I was level 5 I had Lv3 spell slots but could not cast Lv3 spells (though I could use those slots to cast higher powered versions of other spells) but it’s worth it for very good defences.
I also have the Lucky feat and the Chronomancer ability ‘Chronal Shift’-Both of which allow me to influence the dice to some extent.
still sounds like you found a way to break the system which from my experience is not hard in 5e.
Ah well-Every system can be broken. I find 5E less abusable than Pathfinder TBH. Not being able to stack up multiple buff spells is certainly a step in the right direction for the game and they made the Fighter pretty darned good (though the Paladin is still a bit too good and the Monk is sadly trash as I like Monks). Hopefully 6E will be even better π
oh? i haven’t seen to many cheats in pathfinder but im still getting into the system. i did find in 5e that a arcane trickster can get poison spray has no duration and is a cantrip it just does damage so casting it into a glass jar sprays poison in it that has no duration and the rouge can coat their arrows in a 1d10 poison that gets stronger as they level up and you can sneak attack so by lvl 5 your doing 3d6+wepon damage on top of 2d10 poison if they fail the save.
Poison Spray does D12 damage but its duration is ‘Instant’ which means it effects the target and then vanishes. A DM might rule that you can collect the poison created by the spell, but there’s nothing about that in the rules-So they’d be adding their own (possibly broken) rules in order to make that work π
Not that there are no exploits. To my mind, the fact that a lot of classes get a whole bunch of juicy abilities up front, combined with multi classing being very easy to do and it being fine to wear armour and cast spells makes multi class combos a bit too much of a no brainer. Eg-As a Paladin (with a high Cha) it’s a good idea to dip into Sorcerer to get access to the shield spell and maybe some meta-magic.
Another pet peeve of mine is that armour has no impact on athletics checks and you use Str for those checks (rather than Dex). I can kind of understand why, as they don’t want Dex to be too good, but the net result is that a fighter in full plate ends up being better at climbing than certatin Dex based classes such as Rogues, Monks and Rangers, which is really stupid imo.
You need to be strong to climb well, but it’s relative strength that matters-Not absolute strength. In other words, how strong you are in proportion to your weight-Which in my opinion is better represented by Dex.
There are lots of good things in 5E, but it’s far from perfect π
yeah fair enough im just saying it seems to easy in my opinion but her the times i played i may have just had bad dm’s
That’s true-A bad DM can make any system bad π
yeah correct me if im wrong but a dm’s job is to nearly kill the party so that they are like “Woah i cant believe we survived that was awesome!”
That’s certainly my style of DMing. Not every encounter, but every now and then. A very tough encounter that’s also satisfying as it lets all the PCs shine and do their thing. Some DMs make encounters hard by having situations or foes that the PCs cannot use their abilities on-Which in my opinion is a bad idea. Your job as the DM is not to thwart or defeat the PCs. Provide a challenge but don’t make it frustrating π
Yes! that is truly correct I’m glad you agree the last dm’s i had for ver 5 i danced around and completely annihilated their monsters.
Oh yes-I like my players to be a bit shell shocked after one of my mega encounters π Very tough but also very fun-Lots of interesting challenges for the players to get their teeth into π
