I was thinking about holding this page until Wednesday to get back into that update schedule but I thought ‘What they hey!’ and published it on a Sunday (that’s th’ kind of crazy guy I am). I gotta do a comic page for the Patreon so the next page MAY be a bit late but I’ll do my best to get it out on time 🙂 Which will be Saturday? Worst case scenario should be Monday. Whatever. I’ll work like a madman to try to get it done!

Zeen may well make that point quite soon. Why not adopt the kobold life? 😀 I expect Alice will come up with a counter argument. Not to mention the Tanuki god (it’s not so much fun if everyone’s already naked…).
WOW that mushroom Zeen ate must have given him a plus 10 Charisma buff in order to be actively having sex with the party!
It’s hard for the ladies to resist the charms of a buff, free spirited reptile like Zeen 😉
So, did the Tanuki god use his power to protect the bodies or to remove the clothes? Ok I already know the answer is “yes”, but I just had to ask anyway.
Also, isn’t Zeen’s wang normally purple when it’s erect?

It’s hilarious how they usually don’t respect Rath, but now that he’s strong he gets respect in the form of arrows.
The Tanuki’s aura effects probablity to make it less liekly for you to be injured and more likely for you to end up naked due to an attack. That’s without his deliberate interventuion (which can push things MUCH farther than his passive aura would) 🙂
Zeen’s keeping things under control for now. This is only a short rest, after all (he likes to take his time with the love making). That’s just his bulge that Maxie is sitting on 😉

I see, so Zeen was on purpose, and good to know how the background aura works. Influencing luck/probability/fate is a strong but under-appreciated power compared to throwing energy beams.
First of all take the following with a grain of salt as I’m only a lurker (for about 10 years) and not a backer…. but I feel the comic has been kinda heading into a direction I don’t much enjoy. I started reading it as a sexy light-hearted comic that makes fun of DnD and includes a bunch of beefy (nearly) naked men and women who are funny rather than bitchy – all drawn in a way I enjoy. The first change I didn’t much care for was the change in the art style that, more or less, matched the transition into a full sex romp. Largely because it changed the cast from stylized to vaguely feminized and gave them weird proportions – but I thought, okay, I can live with this.
Another nail in the proverbial coffin is that the turn into a sex romp has also lead into a theme what I call “straight lesbians, yay!”. You know, like the Cummoner or “I roved out in search of truth and love” or even Grrlpower. All comics made for straight men by men where every woman is a lesbian who likes getting stuffed by any guy they come across, and the cast is female, except for a few guys who act as a proxy for the (presumably) male reader. I don’t mind occasional sex but I can take only so many pictures of vaginas filled with dicks before I lose interest. As someone who can appreciate the naked female aesthetic but not get aroused by it… Not my cup of tea! Especially in a webcomic format where any sex scene carries on forever.
The first two comics I mentioned specifically have aesthetics and the light hearted characterication I enjoy, as opposed to sex(y) comics made by women, where the male aesthetic and temperament more often leans heavily towards “thin long haired pretty boy with emotional issues” rather than a “big and beefy thug”. The latest turn in this “feminization” trend for this comic is the Tanuki God turning female and Rath’s “seeing it from the female perspective” training arc. One less male character for me to enjoy and entire arc devoted to sexy female shenanigans, and here is yet another scene of a group of women getting into fun times with the (supposedly) bisexual Zeen. Actually I’m not even sure why any of the characters, other than the female cast, are labeled as bisexuals when there isn’t a single bisexual guy in the same team, so basically they just end up being the straight guy amongst a group of horny women.
Anyhow. I just wanted to voice my personal concerns, but if majority of your audience disagrees (and more importantly you and the paying audience disagree), then carry on.
That’s legit. While the comic has always been sexy it’s definitely leaned more into the blatant erotic space. I do try to keep the dialogue fun and silly and I will be puishing the story forward (though I know it can seem very slow, what with only one page per week these days-A product of me taking a bit longer over pages now vs back in the day and not having quite as much time to work on them thanks to outside issues).
I’m doing what I’ve always done, really-Which is to make the sort of comic I’d like to read. I find a lot of comics (particularly in the mainstream) are very bland, and even the sexier stuff shys away from ever actually ‘showing the goods’. To compound this, the vast magority of web comic creators tend to copy this trend rather than buck it. That’s absolutely fine (and is probably a better idea in terms of actually being successful as a business concern) but at least with this comic I prefer not to add to the vast legion of family friendly fare out there and make something for myself and other ‘men of culture’ (dirty gits) 🙂
The adventure and humour will still be there, but there will also be a lot of sexy stuff. That’s a rare thing these days. Getting rarer. Will everyone like what I do? Nope! That’s another thing I’ve found out over the last few years. As well as hosting sites refusing to show my work and advertisers not wanting to do business and people being less likely to share erotic content, it’s (erotica is) also VERY taste-centric. In other words, what may please one person will be of no interest or may even repulse somebody else. It’s very hard to do. They say ‘Sex sells’ but I think the people who say that have never tried to use it -or at least, have used it in the most basic way-A large breasted woman in a bikini or what have you. Go beyond that point at your peril.
That said, you have raised some interesting points and I’ll certainly try to take them on board. I do have a male love interest for Zeen planned (though I don’t know how soon we’ll get to see him) so don’t abandon hope of any male on male action at all. I’ll certainly bear you words in mind going forward 🙂
If I ever finish this comic I may be more sensible (from a financial perspective) and make a family friendly comic next time XD Then I’ll probably learn a whole lot about all the problems of that sphere of creativity XD Anyway-Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts 😀
Yeah, I’m basically in the same boat and IIRC a bunch of pages back (maybe a hundred+) I voiced similar concerns in that e.g. the Galanesh arc was my favorite, but all in all I believe that creative freedom is super important and that there’s so much stuff out there that I can find things that are all but tailor-made for my preferences, so I won’t ask artists to change anything for me. But since I believe that feedback is probably important to any artist I’m giving my 2 cents anyway. 🙂
Tbh. in this comic the last time a sexy scene met my preferences was when Yeshka kissed that lady while “sharing her drugs with her”. Most of the sexy content is really way too blunt for me to find it anything but comical (and the same goes for Grrlpower too btw.). Also now that I think about it: When was the last time two characters actually kissed (besides Yeshka), or even hugged? After thinking about it for a minute, the next thing that came to my mind was Goret doing his best to look “ravishing” while holding a woman in that park (and that looked hot as well in my opinion). Therefore I’m wondering if these two examples are not your preferences (anymore) or if you simply forgot about them?
I’m also still kinda waiting for the group to finally meet Vaznev again (not for sexy content, but to see how serious the last remaining serious character is going to be by now), but I’m well aware that this might not happen in 2024 unless it’ll happen in the very next scene. 🙂
Yes-Erotic content is VERY hard to do. You either make it very bland or broad in appeal (so a lot of people will quite like it but nobody will be crazy about it) or you go hard on a subject that you like (in my case, accidental exposure) and make some people very happy but leave a lot of others baffled or even repulsed.
In future projects I may go for the former option (if I even include erotic content). I assumed everyone was into what I liked and would want to see sexy scenes uncut (which is pretty rare-even in manga) but I was wrong about that. Some people love it , but lots do not. Sex is perhaps even more subjective than humour. Everyone has a different idea of what is sexy (there are a lot of kinks out there that I just don’t get)and what level of sexy they want (ranging from none at all to explicit sex scenes).
To me, narrative progress is more of an issue. I’m often tempted into extending scenes to allow myself space to include sexy moments that may be a bit unneccesry. I will try to push things forward a bit more as we go on.
I do stand by my decision to make the comic more erotically explicit though. Mass media has really dumbed down and de-clawed media over the past few decades (especially when it comes to sex-Violence is still pretty prevalent). Unfortunately most small creatives will ape this puritanical trend rather than thinking for themselves. Art can be for everyone, but not all art should be for everyone. Aiming to make all things as broad as possible will only lead to a morass of grey sludge that nobody is offended by but that nobody really wants either. The ‘Demolition Man’ future of clean, corporate content that may have already arrived.
Most modern entertainment is calibrated to an audience that is assumed to be un-educated and un-enlightened. There is no respect and no expectation that an audience will rise to a production. Instead the production will be lowered to the intellectual and moral standards of the most ignorant and closed minded consumer in the crowd. I despise this (admitedly very lucrative) attitude.
Fighting against this trend is hard (it’s not good financially and it makes hosting and advertsing very difficult) but I think it’s worth it. I’ll keep fighting in my own imperfect way as long as I can. Thanks for the feedback 🙂

I stopped watching TV close to 20 years ago (except when visiting family and friends), because mainstream decided to cater to dumb people, while on the internet there’s something for everyone, so the internet is the only medium I can take refuge in when I want to be entertained. It’s good to see other people feeling the same way, so don’t restrain yourself. 🙂
I’m still curious about my questions above though, i.e. are you into characters kissing and/or holding each other, or were those just one-off scenes that fit the plot well?
E.g. on this page it looks as if Zeen and the girls have as little skinship as physically possible while also being engaged sexually. That feels to me like buying cakes and eating only the cherries on top (which is supposed to be the best part in this analogy, but it’s still wasting most of the cake). I mean, he’s not even putting his free right arm around Maxie.
There’s an example of how personal erotic content can be to each individual. Kissing and hugging never really occured to me as something particularly exciting. i will certainly bear that in mind for inclusion in the future though 🙂
I suppose one reason for the lack of contact is that I tend to like to show off as much of the bodies of the characters as I can, so I tend to choose poses that work well for that (and also tend to involve less contact with one another) 🙂
That surprised me, but now that I think about it, porn often doesn’t have much skinship in general, so I guess most porn consumers don’t find kissing and hugging too exciting either, and the largest market seems to be the one that focuses on showing off as much as possible, too.
Suggestive Anime on the other hand seems to be more diverse, e.g. Eiken, Hanaukyo Maid Tai or KissXSis may not be straight-up porn, but they’re more up my alley.
