‘Black Death’? Yeah-That one’s not so good. Luckily there’s nothing quite as nasty as that around today. 50%+ kill rate regardless of age is pretty brutal 🙁 Still, it did lead to the end of serfdom in England. Every cloud and all that 😉
of a sense, though covid counted as a plague and unlike the black death it hit the world though to be fair modern medicine and media infrastructure did help mitigate the disaster if covid hit the same time period a lot less humans would be around. didn’t know abought the end of serfdoms being correlated with that event well you learn something new every day.
Yup. the population of England was so low that the demand for workers to harvest the crops meant that peasants began to demand higher wages and the right to travel about and work where they pleased.
The population took about 150 years to return to its’ pre-black death levels. That’d be like modern day USA losing about 162 million people over the space of two years and then taking until 2175 to recover back up to its’ present numbers. It was a big deal 😛

Yeah, that’s one of the big problems about early firearms. You got to make sure that you have enough powder and make sure it is dry. Because if it’s a little bit wet, it won’t ignite or at least ignite all the way.
