Never take a hand out from a mountain gnoll-Or you might be out a hand πΒ I wonder how long it’ll take for BQ to re-grow that? She’s probably a bit faster than Deadpool but she lost a lot of HP in those last two attacks. Moroz needs to keep the tempo up!

I wonder if Moroz knows the actual spells “Mighty wallop” and “Mighty Wallop. Greater”. The first is first level and causes the affected weapon to deal the damage of a weapon one size category larger for 1 min level. The second is third level and treats it as one size category larger per 4 caster levels (max colossal) for 1 hour/level.
The higher level version of that spell sounds like it could be pretty powerful π Is that 3.5?
Yep, the “Races of the Dragon” sourcebook specifically. I even realized there’s a hilarious build that could actually pull of the “I cast FIST!” meme. One of the recommended spellsword builds is wizard/swordsage into Jade Phoenix Mage. There is a variant of swordsage that grants access to the monk’s unarmed damage boosts and improved unarmed strike. Also there is a race that if set up right allows you to base your bonus wizard spells off of your strength stat. Use which ever “Mighty Wallop” spell you can cast onto your fists to really ramp up the damage on your punches. Use the level one spell “Blood Wind” (Spell Compendium) to treat your punches as thrown weapons with 20ft range for one round if what you’re punching is to nasty to actually touch. Go full anime martial artist with that build, and with a high enough level you can get Time Stop and use “Za Warudo!”
You could certainly do some cool things in those earlier editions π 3rd ed was kind of the high water make of crazy nonsense. They made some efforts to balance things in 3.5. I play 5th now, which is a very good system for the most part, but I do miss some of the crazier excesses of 3rd ed π Not that 5th ed is ‘perfectly balanced’ (there are still some spells and abilities that are clearly a lot better than others) but the scope for crazy combos is less out there.
The combos are why I will always prefer 3.5 over any of the new editions. I can understand wanting game balance, but the newer editions practically destroyed almost all attempts and fun and creative builds. Silly builds could be propped up to be effective enough to keep up with “standard” builds with some of those combos. Case in point, making a crazy anime style martial artist by using the build I listed. Or even funnier adjusting the build to have warforged as a race, and giving them an “Amulet of Natural Attacks” enchanted with the throwing and returning effects. Rocket punch go!
Yes, there were more opportunites for mad stuff with the older systems. I designed a war horse with the ‘awakened’ rules once (human intelligence). He had pretty amazing stats and with monk levels plus magic horse shoes (that doubled his speed) he ended up with s speed of about 180 and a bonus to jump checks at +60 for speed alone XD
Things I don’t like so much about 5th ed: Some of the levels you get very little, the save system isn’t as good (using all six stats is not needed and characters do not improve in save at all in most of their saves). You don’t get additional skills as you level up.
Things that are better: The action system (Action, bonus action and reactions for all classes make for more dynamic combat). Magic buffing is no longer out of control. Spells don’t usually take you completely out of a fight (back in the day I used to HAVE to design characters with great saving throws to avoid getting taken out at the start of every combat. Fighters were basically worthless). Fighters are quite good now π
Overall I think 5th ed is a great system, although in some ways I think it’s a bit TOO basic (though simplicity is good if it doesn’t lose you anything). Hopefully 6th ed will build on the good ideas of 5th ed and maybe bring back in some of the stuff that made 3.5 and Pathfinder so cool π
Well . That is what happens when you think to be in a movie , Barbecue ……………. Sorry , i mean “BQ” ^_^”
Have you forgotten what is a vampire , Moroz ? She can regenerate her arm : you need fire against it ……….. It’s not won XD
Yup-Moroz needs to keep her attacks coming to get BQ down to zero HP faster than her re-gen can heal her π
Honestly I can totally picture people being more “casual” to severed limbs especially high leveled individuals cause healin’ magic yo
That’s true. It’d still be very painful but if you knew you could be healed with a spell then the psychological impact would be less severe. Same goes for death I suppose-If you’re pretty sure that you’ll be raised if you snuff it in battle then the terror of combat is reduced somewhat π
Anyone besides me give our lovely white furred Gnoll a Nordic accent? Think Fran from FF12.
I always thought of her with a voice similar to Olga Gurlukovich, but I usually make the speech patterns of my charatcers fairly neutral so people can create their own head cannon for how they sound. The version you have is just as valid π Having listened to some Fran that voice would work well too π
Olga is from Goldeneye right? I recognize the name.. but cannot place it.

Oh and here, I thought you forgot about that spell. I told you about. Yeah it’s okay with high level enemies, but it’s way better with low level enemies.
