We go over to Vascarl and chums! Crossing the bridge might be a bad idea, but I’d rather do that than swim…

I know you had said Yarost was a monk class last time we saw him. Now I’m wondering.. How does that work with so obviously low a wisdom score. XD
Maybe a subtype? Unlikely but possibly?
Maybe it’s like in ‘Skills and Powers’ from 2nd edition where each stat was sub-divided into two stats. Like Strength was ‘Muscle and Stamina’ and what have you. I think Wisdom was Willpower and Intuition. I guess he has a higher willpower and the intuition side’s not so good? That makes sense in a way. A lot of people who are very strong willed are also less likely to notice things or realise what’s really going on.
I would also say there is a big circumstance modifier in play here. Yarost has a blind spot when it comes to food π To use 5th ed systems I’d say he’s rolling at disadvantage when food might be in the offing π Maybe that’s a flaw he took. ‘Obsession:Food’. Any checks related to intuition (or even some saving throws) that relate to food are taken a disadvantage (roll 2 D20s and use the lowest).
“Hey buddy you need a ride? I was on my way to the big DOOFUS convention!”
I’ll say hi when you arrive (I’m the guest of honour!) π
That boy needs a Ring of Sustenance, if only to help stave off food related stupidity. Though having him no longer think with his stomach would get rid of half of his whole character so… Maybe not, at least for the author’s sake. At least it keeps him from thinking with something a little lower like most of the other males that show up here, since that seems to be a requirement for most male adventurers (not just in this comic but in general).
Other adventurers are in it for the honeys, he’s in it for the honey π There’s more to him than hunger. There’s the uncontrollable rages, the weak initual form (now overcome physically if not mentally) and the very powerful (though not fully controlled) alternate forms. Also the inferiority he feels from having grown up small and weak and with a gentle personality in a society where power and agression are valued above all else along with the fact that due to his sweet nature (and the support of his friends) he has not become bitter about his own shortcomings π Whilst other characters (such as Rath) might curse their luck and rage against an unfair world, Yarost accepts things as they come (at least while he can keep control of himself) π
Ok, true. Then let me rephrase that. Getting rid of his hunger will get rid of half of the comedy potential he has. All of those other things are good for plot, not always comedy though.
lol-That’s true π I just didn’t want his other qualities to be overlooked. It’s true that hunger is the main driving force for him. They really should give him one of those rings (but I imagine it’d burn out or else he’d STILL be hungry despite the ring :D).
Peter, from this pic and from looking at the comments. If Yarost hunger is more then a part of his “character” and is more to do with his massive power. Then he needs to eat, it’s most likely his body way telling him that it needs more energy. If he doesn’t he most likely won’t be able to do what he did last time. Hell, the form that he’s in right now is probably still draining his energy.
Now, you most likely are going to say. Oh, no no. His hunger isn’t connected to his power. But think about it, you probably created something without even realizing it.
That’s a good point! I expect his incredible potentual for transfromation is linked in to his constant hunger π
Now, if you look back it kinda makes sense. Back at the beach, where he transformed into his beast form to where he was fighting the three vampires. Where he basically had a DBZ Gohan super form. So even though you originally had this as a “quirk” for him that he’s all way hungry. Now, you can say it’s because of his immense power and Yarost body needing more energy.
Let’s see. Let’s say you have a battery and it only has half or a quarter power left. It has enough to work, but not enough for it’s full potential. That’s Yarost, and to bring back up what I said before. If he doesn’t get anything to eat, whatever fight you have plan for him he should do poorly. Because he doesn’t have enough energy to fight.
Or perhaps even worse-If the tank’s empty he can’t transform but if it’s only half full he can transform but he’ll almost certainly go crazy if he does. Plus the hungrier he gets, the more likely he is to transform by accident (his body’s resonse to hunger. It deals with starvation by forcing him into his most dangerous form. Once in this form he goes into pure instinct mode and is 100% focussed on hunting for things to eat. Which is a problem when he turns into a 20ft high at the shoulders wolf that can fire energy beams out of it’s mouth :P).
The fact is : peoples coming here thinks normally that it’s a trap and chooses the other way . But what if the reality is the other path being more trapped than the supposed one ? XD
Yes-Could be reverse psychology. It boggles the mind! XD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMz7JBRbmNo
