Do all my readers play D&D? I expect most of you have played it at some point. It’s not really that unusual nowadays. Back when I started it was seen as the mark of the social outcast or the misfit. Which I suppose was right for me. I was a bit of an oddball(‘Was’, he says! Hah! XD).
Do you guys have a favourite class? I don’t, but I tend to prefer fighty characters that also have some magic or the like up their sleeve for some extra buffing or tactical options. I also like monks. They don’t get magic for the most part but do get some cool powers. I’ve played pure casters but gish is my niche. Either multi classed warriors or subclasses that give a bit of magic or half casters like Paladins.

The physical side he can handle. Mental? Not so much.
As for favored class it depends on the type of campaign if its more roleplay centered i enjoy playing an eccentric bard that makes puns at odd moments. if its a more dungeon delving i enjoy playing a rogue with some magic like arcane trickster. though i do enjoy playing druid as it has a lot of versatility and the option for shenanigan’s.
Interesting. Bards are cool, though I’ve only chosen to play one once and I ended up multi classing into Warlock as that campaign was quite combat heavy and most of the fights that mattered were against enemies with legendary resistance and legendary actions. As I was the only caster my Bard was actually a detriment to the party as the powerful foes would invariably be able to shrug off any magic I threw at them and get an extra action into the bargain fro my activation.
I actually intended to mostly support with that character (which I assumed was the role of a Bard) but at the time their support abilities were pretty feeble and my party was so powerful mu meager buffs had little impact on things. I may try a Bard again at some point, although I tend to be more interested in combat encounters and the people I game with tend to enjoy roleplaying so I don’t usually get much ‘face time’ (and I don’t tend to mind this too much).
I’ve not played many Druids. I did once in 3.5 but that was more of a combat priest. A feral halfling that rode a wolf into battle and almost never transformed as his physical stats were already great (feral boosted Str and Con I believe) and the riding Feats he had made him pretty powerful in battle.
I’ve played a lot of Rogues. Had a fun time with an Arcane Trickster in Pathfinder, though she was somewhat overshadowed as there was a lot of combat and her Magus and Swash-Buckler campanions could put out a lot more damage than she could. Also played a halfling Rogue archer in the Pathfinder days. Back then you could put out a lot of bow shots and of course ALL of your attacks got to add sneak attack damage. He had an acid bow and bought up a lot of holy arrows so his bow shots tended to do about 10D6 damage each before other bonuses and he got a lot of shots (four or five, I think).
Also ran a Fighter/Rogue in 5E with the old -5 to hit, +10 damage ability. Plus the hand crossbow expert combo where you got an extra shot. She could dish out the damage XD
Awesome characters! the rogue was rather op in pathfinder when you got them going, i sure loved using acrobatics and walls to jump off of to get behind foes to start stabbing.
