Page228
New page! 24 hours late, but it was a toughie to make! We get a bit of background on the minky maidens and a new challenger arrives! I wonder what’s got Zeen so worked up? Magocracy of Thuune? Isn’t that the same place Kislata comes from? A land ruled (and largely peopled) by wizards? Next page is supposed to be Saturday but it may be a bit late due to this delay. I’ll fight with gusto to catch up (Like in ‘Battle Royal’ but with less exploding collars…hopefully).
Thanks a lot to my generous Patrons! You make this possible (or at the very least you let me spend more time working on this than I’d have otherwise 🙂 ). I’ve been streaming on Picarto. I should go to the doctors about that really. No! Shut it! Gotta stop with the dad jokes for long enough to tell you all that you can watch me draw on Picarto if you don’t have anything better to do 🙂 Check it out here- https://picarto.tv/SpaceGoblinProductions
A big ‘Thank you!’ to all my existing Patrons-you make this possible 🙂
Maybe Zeen’s heard of the Magocracy before. If Kislata’s attitude is anything to judge them by maybe he just doesn’t want to put up with that as his ability to tolerate arrogance has been used up with the Holy League. XD
That could be the case 🙂
Uh oh, looks like someone at least half way competent showed up this time. And despite Alice’s description of the kamaitachi I still think I’d like to use them in a campaign. I don’t think the already existing “anthro weasel” from the book Savage Species would work well for them, due to the bad charisma hit (-4).
Oh, and a quick edit needed on the final panel, Zeen says magorcacy instead of magocracy.
Yeah-I think they could be pretty dangerous (at least at lower levels). You’d have heavily armoured sword and board warriors out at the front with pikes behind and grenadiers throwing explosives plus muskets and higher level specialists (monks, clerics and wizards for the most part) in support. They’re the sort of Empire that loses a lot of battles but ends up winning the war because of their ability to organise and build new armies quickly. Lots of clever standardisation in engineering and training methods and gear. Very Roman or Chinese 🙂
In a war with the Magocracy they’d lose a lot of people but they can train a new soldier in 3 months while it takes years or even decades of tuition to create a powerful battle wizard. My money would be on the Kamaitachi-Certainly if it was a battle to the death.
Thanks for the correction-I’ll get that fixed 🙂
Sounds like they might be the battlefield equivalent to Tucker’s Kobolds. Easy to smash individually, but once they band together and start using tactics they are dangerous enough to give players PTSD. I do wonder if you have the stats for your custom races posted somewhere, because they seem like they would be pretty fun to add to a campaign.
I should make some Kamaitachi troop stats at some point 🙂 5th edition? That’s what most people play these days 🙂
Yeah, I think 5th is the most popular right now since it is apparently so easy to learn its drawing in a bunch of new players. I personally wouldn’t know since 4th’s butchery of the game turned me off from leaving 3.5e, and I’m kind of worried 5th is not much better from what I’ve seen. That and the sheer volume of 3.5 (and 3.5 compatible 3.0) material means a lot more world building ideas to work with for me.
Well ………. First ; the cult with a bunch of followers , two maids , two nuns , Nemean and a f**king bastard leader : failed (with a lot of luck) . Then some minks , not very redoutable according Alice (will surely fail) . And now a mago-bird , with still unknown abilities ……………… Maybe Leth should put a panel in the village : “No more galanesh stone here” ^_^”
*gives bird seeds to Zodohria*
She would be outraged at the offer of bird seed (but would then eat it absent mindedly and ask if there was any more ;)).
Was that a Kung Pow reference in the last panel!?
Weeeooo-peeeooo! (That means yes) 🙂
What about brown haired NSFW marylin Monroe in the fourth panel ? =^_^=
Yeah-I was going to cover her up with a speech bubble, but I decided to leave it in the end 🙂 I guess Kazu stole and absorbed all the knickers in the area, so there are a lot of ladies going commando right now 😉
“Don’t worry about her shyness it will pass.. See there you go.” 🙂
‘I rock and roll all day long, sweet Susie’. 🙂
So..these gals are like kobolds in the sense of overwhelming numbers and clever tactics? Using the sense of steriotypical D&D sense of course, no offense Zeen, we all know you are mighty and powerful and wise ^^. Also..why and how and where are all these people coming from?!
A bit like that-Only these ladies have formed a large and powerful nation rather than a series a tiny tribes 🙂 As far as ‘Why’ I think that might be down to Sir Tane (the Raven Knight) sending word to a bunch of states and orgonisations concerning the Galanesh stones. It seems like they’re coming to talk to him about it.
And they couldn’t have come sooner? Or like..all at once to avoid confusion and panic…or maybe…like…just…say “this is why I am here dont be alarmed” or something just in case? I mean unless they want to be baddies then I will tell them to wait their turn cause it seems like there are already a lot of baddies waiting in line to get their bit.
They act tough because they tend not to get a lot of respect from other powers. Probably not the wise approach, but then Jakuten (the officer) isn’t exactly their best and brightest. She falls more into the catagory of ‘if it’s a trap, we haven’t really lost much’ in terms of why she was picked for this mission 😉 It WOULD have been nice if all these guys had turned up 10 minutes ago. Maybe they would have dealt with the cultists 🙂 Ah well-Heroes are not made mighty by having an easy time of it 😉
