Ka-blammo! Alice shows us how it’s done and gets her fight all sewn up. She IS higher level than the others I suppose (level 7 vs Rath, Zeen and Kazu who are only level 3). Still, it’s pretty fast work. I just hope she can get back to them in time to help them out if they need it 🙂

Okay nit picky time Yay! XD Clerics need their holy symbol to cast magic as we learned from Vitae and Mortem losing theirs and unable to cast spells. It could easily be that Alice’s symbol is on her mace and that’s why she’s been able to cast while still almost completely naked, but in the panel where she casts her hands are both empty. So how is it she was able to cast hold person, which as far as 3.5 and pathfinder go, requires you to be holding a focus or divine focus? Maybe she just has the ever popular *fanfare of trumpets* Story Holy Focus(tm) 🙂
Alice had a mage friend cast ‘Arcane Mark’ on her tongue and through training and strong faith is able to use this image of her god’s sigil (in this case an owl) as a holy symbol for the purpose of casting spells and turning undead. This was cast in the invisible mode, but Alice knows it’s there 😉 A lot of ‘Strolling Clerics’ ( a group of clerics pledged to use their powers to help all those in need whether they can pay or not) take this sort of precaution so that proving that they have been casting spells without collecting payment for the church is more difficult 😉
Glad she doesn’t have to touch it to cast. It would look pretty weird if you had to grab your tongue every time you cast a spell, not to mention the difficulty with the verbal components of the spell. 🙂
That’s the beauty of it-She is touching it (as it’s on her skin) 😉 If she had to touch it with her fingers it’d be a bit odd. She’s look like she was trying to throw up every time she used it 😉
Or she’d stick it out and grab it. However that way people would just think she’s gone mad… Although that could end fights before they really begin. 🙂
