Page955
New page! I didn’t make it last Saturday and in the end I didn’t finish this one until Tuesday so I decided to keep it and publish it now-Get a bit of breathing space. Did anyone notice? Does anyone still read this thing? Please comment so I don’t feel so much like I’m screaming into the void 😀
AI art-That stuff is starting to get scary. Will pinup art continue to bee a viable subject for artists? Art seems like an odd thing to use AI for. I suppose it’s really more of a demonstration of what AI can do. It’ll be interesting to see what it’s doing in twenty years time….
Please back me on Patreon if you can! It makes a massive difference. More backing means more time to work on the comic! 😀
Also-Please comment-I love hearing from my readers 🙂

I doubt the wolves will wait for Zeen’s permission to take the fight to him, especially seeing that he’s the focus of the queen’s grudge.
From what I’ve seen, AI art has difficultly with maintaining a semblance of creativity and originality. Multiple pieces from the same AI give me the feeling of looking at the early work of an artist in training, at the stage where they are learning to imitate other artists but don’t have their own voice yet. That might be good enough for creating filler material but it’s ultimately unsatisfying to me as someone looking for an artistic experience. I think the AI would need to have a personality to get there.
Yes-There are often flaws in AI art-But I expect those will be ironed out. I suppose the thing to do as an artist is make stuff that an AI may not be able to easily replicate. AI art is often technically good but may be missing the panache that a real flesh and blood visual story teller can provide-For now… Ah well-Not much point in worrying about it. It’s not like we can(or should) stop it 🙂
I noticed it was gone! I look forward to your comic, been reading it since… I think it was around the time they were doing the fight between the pirate gnome druid and Goret where he was using his infinite fire power exploit… hard to believe how long ago that is!
But its important to take time for yourself too, can’t make any comics if you burn out and quit!
Thanks for comenting-I understand if people don’t always leave a comment (there’s sometimes not much to say) but I do appreciate comments as it lets me know people are still reading 😀 I’m still really enjoying making the comic, so hopefully I won’t have to stop (It tends to be real world stuff that gets in the way rather than being tired of makingg it) 🙂
right comment more often got it. don’t be a part of the peanut gallery
I understand people can’t commetn all the time-I just start to get worried when there are no comments at all 😀
hahaha understandable ill leave the profound and witty and just y’know speak my mind
Been reading since the first page came out, but making yet another account just to comment on one webcomic always seemed like too much effort. You’ve definitely got readers though, and I’m sure a decent number of us having been reading the messages after the comments :p
As for AI art… I was born with a slightly different hand structure from most people and have very little control from side to side, making drawing and neat handwriting pretty much impossible for me. AI art has meant that, with a lot of tinkering, I can actually get these images I’ve had stuck in my head for decades actually out there in the real world. Which to me, is pretty great.
In regards to the threat to the careers of digital artists… Art has never been a zero sum game. The more that’s out there, the more inspiration people find for creating new things of their own. Commission artists might take a hit though, but probably not as big of one as people would expect. Part of the thing behind getting something commissioned is the idea behind having *someone* actually making an artwork for you.
Yes, I think ultimately AI art will only be a good thing. Certainly it’s fun to play about with and it lets anybody have a go at creating art without hving to put their 10000 hours in. It does make me worry though-Since these programs can create some very technically impressive art in a few seconds vs the tens of hours (or even hundreds of hours) it would have taken for an experienced artist to do the same thing.
I also see it as maybe being disheartening for upcoming artists who work so hard to try to improve only to see another person make very little effort and get a lot more attention (on DA or the like) for art that they created in an instant using an AI. That’s another problem. The internet is so important now. You’re in a constant battle for the eyes of the people-And now you have competition for an almost limitless sea of images generated by AI. I can see it being quite disheartening.
I suppose the thing to do is to make larger projects. Single stand alone images made by artists may become a thing of the past as the AIs become more proficient at producing them.
Ah well-Nothing to be done about it-And they are a good thing for a lot of people. I’m not against something that will bring more happiness into the world 🙂
the best part about screaming into the void is when it screams back. although since its full of Gnolls they may just howl back instead.
The gnolls keep telling me to shut up and throwing old boots at me. I should probably knock it off 😀
nah just counter it with cat scratch music!
Read it? You mean we’re not just meant to stare at the pretty pictures? 😀
Yes, read it! My words are a work of pure genius! I barely ever make spelling mistakes these days 😀
Are these wolves actually Worgs? Normal and Dire wolves aren’t supposed to be able to talk but I know Worgs can.
They’re not worgs, but it’s possible they have some worg in their bloodline. Some animals in this world can talk, some can’t. There’s been a lot of magic flying about and a lot of experiments and largescale spells worked by wizards and priests and gods over the centuries, so the rules of our own world do not always apply 🙂
Well, there IS some pretty weird things in the official D&D canon as well. Like a druid circle whose lead druid is a talking redwood tree. No not an ent, a once normal redwood tree some druid decided to use magic to give it sapience. Said druid then proceeded to make the tree his apprentice, teaching it everything he knew about druidic magic. Of course that means that the tree can turn itself into an ent now, so don’t mess with that druid circle. Otherwise you’ll have to deal with a redwood sized Treebeard summoning the entire forest after you. Too bad I can’t remember what setting that druid circle is from exactly, but I believe they’re from Faerun.
Sounds interesting 🙂 I wonder what sort of stats a tree would (wood?) get? Great Con I suoppose, but not so good at the Dex 🙂
Funnily enough by the rules as written they get no con score at all. The spell says to use the stats for an animated object of the same size.
