Umm are we ignoring the fact that the bird mage now has a fireball with a greater size than the one Goret made and that one was supposed to detonate up to a mile radius at least. What exactly is she going to do with all that magical energy even if she stands down?

Thanks! 😀 I did check that word but I still managed to get it wrong. I will fix that post haste. I expect she can fling her fireball up into the sky-Or simply dissipate the energy harmlessly. She IS a very acomplished mage after all 😉
Anybody can dissipate the energy harmlessly, considering that’s what happens when you *fail* a Concentration check. It’s only logical that doing so on purpose should not require any effort.

I’m going by the fact that Goret was unable to simply dissipate the energy when it was caught between him and Venom, so there is past occasions that would lead me to believe that that much energy couldn’t simply be dissipated.
That’s also a good point 🙂 Goret is the sort of person that would learn enough about a spell to blow stuff up with it, but he might not bother with the boring details like being able to dissapate or cancel the energy. His magic style is powerful but unrefined 🙂
